F and John think I share too much. And I have had this journal 7 years and have picked up friends along the way whom aren't all still on LJ.

So now is your chance to re-opt-in, if you wish. I'll leave it open for a while because I have no delusions that you people tune in every day to read my drivel.

Well .... I think it's lovely they have an opinion ... but what do *you* think. It is your journal after all.

Now, if they're objecting to what you share about them, then you might have some things you may need to not share (as I have asked of the hubby on occasion), or you may want to filter them.

But yes, I am still reading :)

I'm realizing that a lot of people are on my list who either no longer post themselves or who no longer comment on my posts. I want to clean house, but I also don't want to offend anyone by cleaning who is still reading.

For example, the ex-husband. We don't talk that often anymore but if he's still reading and would like to continue, I'd like to know. He's not the only one... it's just a check-in, ya know?

FTR:You are one of my favorite people to read. You are real, you are interesting, you express yourself well and you're not all cryptic and weird and just providing a bunch of links to other people's interesting thoughts and lives. :-)

"Yes! I wanna know the trials and tribulations of your life... it's more fascinating than plucking toe cheese!"

Not the metaphor I would have chosen, but cutting the cheese, yes - sure, I've known you for a long time. I recall interviewing you at my office at Old Yeller. How much we all have changed, and yet stayed the same since then.

I do think that if you and J are discussing journals, you should consider how he feels - I've felt awkward or embarrassed any number of times by Red's writing about me, but it was my discomfort to deal with, and her journal to write as she wished. I know that when I get upset about what she writes, she thinks about that and takes it into consideration. That does not stop her from writing about it if she needs to write, or hear what her friends have to say.

You're the main one I think of when I think of the negative reactions someone has when someone is de-friended. It's a real and honest reaction to it happening... I do not fault you for that at all, but if someone is no longer reading me, I'd like to know so that I can remove that link to what I'm sharing.

John and I have talked and I respect his privacy. Nothing I write here doesn't involve me, too, and I never write anything that would hurt him or any situation he is in. And F (and all forms of his nickname surrounding that initial) all started with me protecting HIS privacy by calling him F.

Finally, I am still bitter about someone de-friending me... and it was a couple of years ago! He did a mass wipe of his 'non-essential' friends and then later whined that no one cared about his little project when he needed stroking a few weeks later. I've taken the schadenfreude point of view about it, though, and kept going.

argh -- I hope that wasn't me you are referring to, if so it was before my divorce and I'm claiming PTMS (Post Traumatic-Marriage Syndrome)

it was not you or have you de-friended me and I didn't know it?

Ultimately, its your journal, and you decide who you wish to share it with. I've been enjoying reading you all these years, but if you feel you need to close your circle of friends a bit, that's fine.

I've been feeling lately that I don't wish to write as much as I used to, that may change, it may not but with my new job taking up so much of my free time, it seems to be having an effect on my writing desire as well.

I very rarely comment, but I *do* read. And as long as you enjoy sharing, know that you have someone over here who cares and is interested to know about what's going on in your life. (((gentle hugs)))

Opting in too! I enjoy your thought process. If it requires a TMI moment or three in your journal, then a part of you needs that outlet :)

I'm reading your stuff ... don't always comment

I think you should start a separate filtered thread for all your real interested friends : what fatesfolly's butt is wearing today

I'm sure that photo essay of the life of your tookus would have attention paid to it

Still reading even though I seldom comment; I rarely have anything substantive to say. Even though I've sadly been dropped by our mutual friend, I am still interested and I still read.

I probably over share in some filters as well but *shrug* it's better than paying for therapy I can't afford!

Unfortunately, I don't get the chance to check in with LJ every day (heck, these days, I'm not checking in every month).

BUT, I do enjoy reading about your stuff :)

You're one of the few people who still posts here in LJ Land on a regular basis. And it's always stuff that I find interesting.

(Sorry for the delay...I've been crunched under work and things these last few days and haven't been checking anything quite as much as usual.)
