Pinging my F-List
Has anyone ever done any Geocaching?
Kimberly wanted to do it the Saturday that I was down there, but it was so freaking hot and humid.
Basically, you get a GPS device, track the coordinates as found here: http://www.geocaching.com/, and go hiking or driving. Once you get to the basic area, there's a "treasure" there that you have to find. Sometimes, it's just a film canister with some paper to log that you've been there, but sometimes, it's a larger weather-proof container with coupons, coins, and other small treats. You can take one of the treasures, but the rules state that you have to leave something in its place.
Apparently, kids do it, adults do it, families do it. You put in a zip code on the site and it gives you a list of local caches you can track.
It sounds fun, but I was wondering if any of y'all have ever done it.
